Muar Food Bank is a non-profit organization or a charitable platform
that collects food and items from the public and distribute them to the needy.

食物银行的建立有别于直接捐助金钱，
热心民众以待用、捐出食物或物资的方式，
透过食物银行等非盈利平台，交到需要者的手里。

Objectives

目标

To assist needy families and the underprivileged like the sick, elderly and orphans in the district, by building a hunger-free and healthy community, and at the same time, to nurture a caring society.

Due to the unequal distribution of food resources in the world at present, it is essential to educate the community and create public awareness about the ways of combating food waste. One way is by donating surplus resources to the needy to alleviate hunger in less-privileged families or individuals.

Moreover, through the introduction of the food bank, the public and food merchants are able to avoid unnecessary food waste by donating their surplus, edible food and lend a helping hand to the people in need.

We also provide help beyond food aid so long it is within our capabilities. Helping to connect those in need to the relevant government welfare organisations and reaching out to various community organisations for a variety of assistance to provide love and support.

为协助本区清寒家庭，老病无依或孤儿寡居等弱势团体能至少保有三餐温饱，促进社会关爱。

同时希望能通过食物银行概念，让麻坡人民和商家能学习将家中过剩的食物资源，捐出协助更多有需要的人，以确保地球资源不浪费。

在全球粮食资源严重分配不均的现在，很需要教育人们减少浪费食粮，同时将更多剩馀资源转向捐助其他有需要的人，减少弱势家庭或个人三餐不继的情况。

而我们也将会在能力范围内，协助这些有需要的民众，向政府有关当局申请相关援助，同时在他们遇到问题时，联络相关社团组织一起合作予以各种协助，希望能通过各界的爱心与支持，让我们的社会更加温馨。

我们如何服务？

Food Bank collaborates with local food industries and the public for food donations. We do not purchase food unless deemed necessary.

Currently, Muar Food Bank is in need of volunteers and we hope the public can devote a little of what they can offer, whether it is money, time or effort. Let’s do our part in helping the less-privileged groups in our district and at the same time reduce global food waste.

除非有必要，食物银行不會以购买食物方式捐贈予受惠者，食物银行是通過与本地食物业界合作方式，将剩余食物送给有需要的人。或向家中有过剩食品者徵求捐赠。

此外，麻坡食物银行也徵求热心义工，吁请麻坡公众有钱出钱，有力出力，积极加入麻坡食物银行成为义工，协助帮助本区更多有需要的弱势人群，同时也能协助地球减少粮食浪费。
